Afrocentric Transformative AfCFTA driven Legacy Reclamation Intensive Master Training Course for Change

"Nyika inovakwa nevenevayo igonamatigwazve nevenevayo" - Sovereign principles for Africa's transformation

About the Summer-Winter School

Program Overview

The 2025-2026 ASC AfCFTA Enlightenment Summer-Winter School focuses on transformative AfCFTA-driven industrialization and legacy reclamation in marginalized rural-urban and resettled communities across Zimbabwe, Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa.

This intensive master class program aims to bridge the development gap through informed dialogue between development partners including government ministries, industry, private sector, local authorities, academia, researchers, traditional leaders, and the public.

Objectives

The program seeks to address the socioeconomic challenges faced by Africa through:

  • Imparting skills on transformative AfCFTA-driven industrialization
  • Promoting development-oriented dialogue among stakeholders
  • Fostering understanding of the AfCFTA initiative's transformative potential
  • Building capacity for digital-era legacy reclamation
African Development
Industrialization
Digital Transformation

Concept Note

The African Development Context

Over the last six decades, the African continent has undergone profound changes characterized by a combination of challenges and opportunities. Despite a wealth of human and natural resources and various pan-African initiatives (Lagos Action Plan, Abuja Treaty, AGOA, TICAD, NEPAD, UNECA, Africa Agenda 2063), socioeconomic depression remains pronounced across Continental Africa.

A comparative analysis shows that while Africa's per capita wealth increased marginally from $4,720 in 2015 to $6,394 in 2025, other continents saw exponential growth from $39,020 to $61,752 over the same period. This "contradictory development paradox" highlights the urgent need for transformative approaches to Africa's development challenges.

The solution lies in systematic adoption, implementation and monitoring of a "Transformative AfCFTA driven industrialization program" that integrates past experiences, present challenges, and future opportunities into a strategic tool for accelerated growth aligned with the digitally advancing global village.
